The Art I See

My Mother always called me a Barefoot Bohemian
Never knew if it was a positive or a negative but knew it meant something like being different
I imagine way beyond what my eyes see
Throughout the day I get snapshot flashes capturing the normal into Art.
Probably even more so now with this blogging and camera by my side
I imagine how things came to be. Click
I morph old into young. Young into the future. Click click.
Wonder where and how people live
What their dreams are
What makes them cry
All in seconds. Clickkk
Exhilarating and exhausting at the same time

Here are some things I saw along the way this week
 Young cute girls in black
Working hard
A distant future memory for them

Unexpected colors
What was here before. A pizza place I think. What's to come. Will I still be alive.

Who chose these pretty colors. Who did the tile work.
Do they send others like they send me

 Simplicity
Could I ever live in Japan
Flash. Click. Me very old sitting in a little room on a red cushion

My husband's hands
Morphed by my mind into tiny baby hands holding onto his mother's skirt. Click.
Hands that now hold chop sticks ever so lightly
Have adjusted thousands of patients in 23 years. Changing lives one by one
That have built a home. Tend to it without a complaint. Provide a magical life for his family
Art.

Wasabi swirl

Arts and Crafts sure have changed over the years
Every year when I was young, our family put on a Christmas sale. You could say Christmas then.
I always made 100 Reindeer ornaments out of clothespins and pom-poms.
Guaranteed 100.00 at 1.00 each. Not bad for a 12 year old
My Mom made wooden spoon dolls and my Aunt Louise, quilted pot holders
I never liked the word Crafts. Visions of crochet and plastic beads. Clothespins, pom poms, and pot holders. Click.
Today I think the word has changed for the hugely talented Artisans I see doing their Craft

Yesterday I went to this wonderful show out in the country
Simple handmade signs...my favorite
....that you still have to gather all the supplies, find a place to work
and clean up

Adore living in Barn Country
What did they eat when they built this barn. Who cooked it.
Not avocados and goat cheese

Creative Energy gathered inside
Paralleled dimensions of when it was home to livestock. Overlapping in my mind.

Metal
I love metal work

Looking
Deciding
Movement
Where will I put this. Do I have enough money. Do I want more clutter. I have to buy something.

 Chiara's HaPpY FUN beautiful Brooches!
portraits, murals, fine crafts, children's books, consulting, classes, and parties

Bought that sweet blue Flower Cup from my beloved ChiChi  <3

Pretty  plates
Neat and Tidy
Clean orderly home I bet. Click.

 Honey Ivory Soap Girl
Bee Attitudes Honey

Natural Raw Honey, Free-Range Omega Eggs, and Lavender Biscotti

Loved these but we use the more solid raw honey that you scoop up with a spoon

 Stacianery
By Stacia Landsberg

Sweet and soothing. I like the one with the little blue bowl on top

 Flower Garden Girl

Yummy Treats from Tim's Pumpkin Patch

LOVE those CUTE girls from Schoolhouse Farm!

...also love anything slate and chalk

Updated farmhouse packaging. LOVE

Are they really listening. What are they saying. Thinking.
Do their tummies hurt
Like mine.

Very cool reclaimed, re-purposed designs!

The AMAZING Hetty Easter...loveeee that name :)
Definitely check out Portrait a Day!!
I promise you will smile!

Living Art
Nowhere to go. Nothing to do. Freedom to be.
A distant memory. Click.

______________________

Two weekends ago my Lacy and I went to an Art opening of Noma and Jim Bliss at my friend Ellen's restaurant, BC
Our FAVORITE place to eat!!

Noma and Jim's Art makes me think of the imaginary world I visited when I was young.
Strange little people living underground. Laughing and spinning and telling secrets.
Doing nasty things then giggling. Living free.
I LOVE Bliss Art!!
Hoping Hidden Pond Farm is home to one of their pieces someday!

Perfect little BC bites

The artwork is shared by both Noma and Jim
Noma sketches the design and then Jim puts it to canvas.
Jim does some painting and then Noma comes in with some mixed media and more paint
Noma, in the end, usually get the last brush stroke :)

Always wanted Bow lips

Even the back of BC is Art

Mine. Created 29 years ago <3

Red Girl just took White Girl's flower.
And White Girl giggled.

Fur shop owner in my underground world

Bird scaring cat

Portraits of Loved Ones
<3

Me somedays

Total Jim Art

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched my mama would say.
I don't.
Too fearful of disappointments. I did.

Noma and Jim to the left in the mirror
She's adorable!
Looks like one of her people in my underground world

Advice I'm sure

Looking into other worlds
Feeling with your eyes

A mystery
Watching life unfold
Art.

  2. This post...I could have written...you know that as well as I do...some of us just see things through different eyes...softer, or sharper, more abstract or more rustic...less broken, more repurposed and reimagined... we just do...can't explain to some people...others...just get 'it'. :-)
    Talk to you soon!!!
