Never say never.

Joined the Y
Really, anyone who knows me would say that is THE last thing I would do.
I'm too shy to exercise in front of others and indoor exercise has always felt strange to me. But with these Central NY winters I cannot walk all that I would like, and at the Y you can walk around the ice rink (not so great, but warm!) and they have yoga almost every day!
It's been my whole life, the things I resist, I end up lovinglovingloving.
Like God wraps it up a little differently and gives me brand new eyes to see. Grateful.

Kundalini Yoga. A while ago a friend suggested I try it. NO WAY..chanting and dancingish movements. No, not me.
Synchronicity came into play. Now, Wednesday nights, love.
(always in the far back corner under dimmed lights, with all my yoga and spiritual practice though)
"Chanting?" NO NO NOOOO, way too shy, NEVER EVER.
More right place, right timing..
The whole Kirtan thing. Sends me to places in my soul I've never been before.
I chant in my car (must look cRaZy) and while I am walking (very quietly)
No back corner when I'm with my friend Michele xox at a concert. We are right smack dab in front, practically in the musician's lap!

Trying to catch all the new things that are flying at me oh so fast.
Who knows where they will lead?!
(..Drumming. I  reeeallyyy! don't think so..But ANYthing's possible when I go out to see Milli in Boulder the end of next month!)

Back to my old mantra
..never say never.

On a three week Ayurvedic Winter cleanse of the Body, Mind, and Spirit
Day 7 today
No animal products. Simple foods and disciplined daily routine,  Dinacharya.
A cleanse for optimal health, balance, and deeper spiritual growth.
A little hard to get in all the daily requirements the first few days, baths, oil rubs, meditation, nasal stuff...
but by the end of week one, love and never want to go back.

Kitchari
An Indian porridge of basmati rice, mung dhal, and spices, made daily

New favorite food

More food than I'm used to but lost 3lbs the first few days
(another thing that usually happens with me ..eat food and loose!..?)

 Our lake Wednesday
Felt and smelled like Spring

On my way out to my friend Rose's farm

Rosie showing me her resting bees

 one room schoolhouse

Amazed at how many gardens Rosie has, and out buildings with sparkly clean tractors. Every inch of this heavenly land was neat and tidy and well loved.
I cannot even imagine the work that goes into it all!
No wonder her vegetables are sooo beautiful and taste like you can't believe!
Over the years Rose has fed and nourished hundreds of bodies and souls
with her life giving organic produce and tender caring heart.
Look at her hands. You will fall in love.
So very lucky to have her in my world xox

Friday
Winter arrived.
Happy to have a mild one after last year but the snow really is so pretty
Perfect for drifting way far away in a book and sipping something warm.
...hot lemon water and chai tea for the next few weeks!

Remember Carolyn?
Her back end was completely COMPLETELY paralyzed.
Under the guidance of our Vet and other Dachshund owners, we kept her in 24hr crate rest
for five months. That's a long time. It killed me for her :(
...but
Look at her now!
Never thought I'd see her dance her little dance again <3

Never ever say never.
